The National Consumers League (www.nclnet.org) has launched a national education campaign, called Script Your Future. The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness among consumers and their family caregivers about the importance of taking medication as prescribed as a vital step toward better health outcomes. NCAHC has signed on as a Committed Partner of the campaign!

A new online resource (scriptyourfuture.org/hcp/index.php) is now available to help health care professionals improve medication adherence among their patients, particularly those with chronic conditions.

Nearly three out of four Americans admit that they do not always take their medications as directed – which can lead to serious health consequences and avoidable costs, especially among patients with a chronic condition. As more and more Americans are affected by at least one chronic condition, the health and financial consequences for patients and the health care system will continue to grow.

This new website is the first step in a broader national education campaign called Script Your Future, which will officially roll out later this summer to address the problem of medication non-adherence among Americans.
The National Consumers League will execute the campaign with the help of more than 80 organizations, including NCAHC. Other partners represent health care professionals, research, business, government, consumer advocates, payors and pharmaceutical groups. For more information, go to www.scriptyourfuture.org/HCP.

Some of the tools you will find on www.ScriptYourFuture.org/HCP:

  • Journal articles on medication adherence and how it can be improved
  • Medication lists and condition management sheets
  • Factsheets on diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol, and asthma
