Bruce A. Berger
President, Berger Consulting, LLC and Emeritus Professor, Auburn University

Bruce A. Berger, PhD is Professor Emeritus at Auburn University. He is currently the President of Berger Consulting, LLC. He has been teaching health communication and health behavior change and motivational interviewing (MI) for over 30 years. He brought applications of motivational interviewing into health care training nearly 20 years ago, long before the founders of MI saw its applications to health care. He has won numerous awards for his work.

He is founder of the Auburn University Motivational Interviewing Training Institute (AU MITI) and now, COMMIT (Comprehensive Motivational Interviewing Training for health care providers) and has presented programs on health behavior change to organizations such as the Veterans Administration and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.

His research interests include health behavior change and improving treatment adherence. He has written or presented over 1,000 papers or seminars on these topics.
